Accessibility
STUDIOT LABS LLC wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, or reduced motion settings.
The standard we build to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the level United States courts and regulators generally look to when judging whether a commercial website is accessible.
What that means in practice here
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is outlined.
- A skip link lets keyboard and screen-reader users jump past the header straight to the content, and the target takes focus.
- Headings run in order, so a screen reader can be used to navigate the page structure.
- Body text is set to meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio the standard asks for, and large text to meet 3:1.
- Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a narrow phone screen, and stays readable when enlarged.
- Decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as meaningless content.
- The one animation on the site can be paused, and it does not start at all if your system asks for reduced motion.
- Links and the current page in the menu are marked by more than color alone.
What we know is imperfect
We have not commissioned an independent audit of this site, and we do not claim full conformance. Some small supporting text sits close to the minimum contrast ratio rather than comfortably above it. Typefaces are loaded from a third-party service, so if that service is slow the page may briefly render in a fallback font. Our stores are separate websites with their own code and their own accessibility work in progress.
If something blocks you
Tell us and we will fix it. Write to info@studiotlabs.com with the subject “Accessibility”. Describe the page and what happened, and include the browser and any assistive technology you were using if you know them.
We aim to acknowledge within five business days and to tell you what we intend to do about it. If the fix will take time, we will offer another way to get the information you were looking for in the meantime.
